Dartmoor Zoological Society is the charity behind Dartmoor Zoological Park. The Zoo is home to over 200 animals including endangered species, and we work to raise awareness of the importance of biodiversity, and to inspire our visitors to become enthusiastic supporters of its conservation.
We have a dedicated education team who work with students from pre-school age to Post-graduate degree level, and we have strong links with Plymouth University. Animal Management students learn the very best practices in animal care, and graduate researchers work to improve knowledge of animals, their habitats and the threats that face them. This knowledge is then passed on to the public so that it can have maximum impact.
Our research team is working to conduct research which will have benefits for conservation and animal welfare, and our keepers spend their time thinking of exciting enrichment for our much loved animals to enjoy.
We are very grateful for any support which enables us to continue our vital conservation work and helps us to look after all the wonderful animals that call the Zoo home, it all makes such a difference.
