Barlaston Road, Blurton, Stoke On Trent, ST3 3NZ
Douglas Macmillan Hospice, or Dougie Mac as we are more commonly known, has been caring for local people since 1973, both at the hospice in Blurton and in people’s own homes across Stoke on Trent and North Staffordshire.
We are an independent charity with no connection to any national charities. In the area we are the only adult hospice providing care and support to local people facing any life limiting illness that is no longer curable.
We are really proud of the services we offer and the difference that we make to the patients and their families. So much of what we do is a hidden jewel. What we do is wide ranging: symptom control; pain relief; therapeutic treatments; psychological support; social and welfare advice; spiritual guidance; respite breaks and more.
Most people already know about our onsite services which include a 28 bed In-Patient Unit as well as a new state of the art Day Therapy Unit, Outpatients Service and Community Lodges. We aim for our patients to be able, to be well and to live for as long as possible.
