Place2Be provides mental health services in primary and secondary schools, building children’s resilience through talking, creative work and play.
Place2Be works with 282 primary and secondary schools, reaching a school population of 116,000 children, helping them to cope with wide-ranging and often complex social issues including bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, family breakdown, neglect and trauma.
One in ten children in the UK under the age of 16 suffers from a diagnosable mental health disorder, such as anxiety or depression; that’s three children in every classroom. If not addressed early on, these childhood challenges can manifest as serious problems later on in life such as addiction, crime, and unemployment.
Place2Be works to prevent this downward spiral; we intervene early to ensure children are supported from a young age, building their resilience and providing them with coping mechanisms for the future. Our vision is a world where children have the opportunity to grow up with prospects rather than problems.
