Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, Chamberlain Square, Birmingham, B3 3DH
Birmingham Museums Trust’s purpose is to showcase the city’s outstanding collection and venues to inspire learning, creativity and enjoyment in the people of Birmingham and visitors to the region.
The museum collection under our care includes 800,000 objects stored and displayed in nine unique venues including six Listed Buildings and one Scheduled Ancient Monument. Most areas of the collection are Designated as being of national importance, and it includes the finest collection of Pre-Raphaelite art in the world.
We are an independent educational charity; using real objects for learning is at the heart of what we do. Our museums and heritage sites enable people to learn from the past, to understand the present, and foresee the future. We engage the local community to make the collection relevant and accessible to all audiences.
Our ambition is to “Reflect Birmingham to the world, and the world to Birmingham,” reinventing the major civic collection in our care as the common shared heritage of a young multi-cultural city.
Legacies help us to engage, inspire and educate local people and visitors to the region.
