National Theatre Upper Ground, London, SE1 9PX
For over 50 years the National Theatre has been committed to inspiring audiences through world-class productions. Our work ranges from re-imagined classics to modern masterpieces and we strive to be as open and as national as possible. We believe that theatre should be for everyone.
Last year we staged 35 productions, with a total global reach of 7.6 million people made possible through initiatives such as NT Live broadcasts to cinemas across the world and touring productions.
Every year our Learning Programme reaches over 100,000 young people and over half of UK state secondary schools are now signed up to stream recordings of NT productions directly to their classrooms, for free.
In addition to reaching out to the widest possible audience, the National Theatre is also dedicated to supporting the theatre industry as a whole through collaborating with regional theatres and providing important space and resources for artists to develop new ideas and push theatrical boundaries in our New Work Department.
A legacy to the National Theatre will ensure this work is safeguarded so future generations can have access to experience and create world-class theatre.
