Remember A Charity is a consortium of 200 charities. Our aim is to do what no single charity has ever been able to achieve on its own – to change the perceptions and perspectives of the nation towards charitable legacies, so that, over time, legacy giving becomes the norm for the many, rather than just the few.
Our role is to be the sector’s leading campaign on growing the legacy market, working with members and partners in the legal sector, government and private sector to change behaviour.
By working together we can change the face of charity giving forever.
Did you know that gifts in Wills are fundamental to the amazing work of many charities?
In fact, income from gifts in Wills is worth more than £2.8 billion a year to charities in the UK. Many charities rely on these gifts to help them carry out their vital work.
Unfortunately there is evidence of a disconnect between people’s intentions to give money in their Wills, and those doing so. Research shows that 35% of those surveyed wanted to leave money to charity in their Will, but only 6.3% do.
Your support can make a huge difference
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport, HM Treasury, the Law Society, Scottish Government and the Law Society of Scotland are proud to have supported the 2016 Remember A Charity in your Will Week. The annual awareness week is designed to encourage more people to consider leaving a gift to charity in their Will.
Please show your support as a solicitor or Will-writer by joining hundreds of firms and signing up to our Campaign Supporter scheme.
It’s free to join and by doing so you will be looking after the best interest of your clients and supporting the aims and objectives of Remember A Charity.
