Since launching in 2000 we've helped to grow the legacy market and improve market share for our member charities.
By working together, we've seen a sustained increase the number of people who include a charitable gift in their Will, from 11% in 2010 to 19% in 2021.
Remember A Charity relies on the collective strength of its members to protect and grow the legacy sector.
Speaking out for our members
We work hard to create a favourable legacy market. We were instrumental in lobbying the government to scrap the proposed hike in probate fees and retain the current inheritance tax rate relief.
Probate backlog update
HM Courts & Tribunals Service has issued a statement that sets out its plans to resolve the delay and backlog of Wills passing through probate.
Our ambitious strategy focuses on generating significant legacy market growth and driving charitable Will-writing behaviour.
We aim to do this by focusing on three strategic pillars:
1. Driving the public’s consideration and action about gifts in Wills.
2. Ensuring professional advisors consistently mention the charitable option when advising clients.
3. Creating a more favourable environment for charitable Will-writing.
Find out how we measure against these objectives in our Strategic Plan 2022-2025.
By pooling our resources and working together we can change the course of legacy giving nationwide.
