As part of the Probate Service User Group, we’ve asked HMCTS to deliver a webinar specifically for charities and we’re pleased to announce this will be held on 15 November (details below).

Although HM Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS) continues to process a large volume of grant applications throughout the year, probate delays in England and Wales remain a concern for charities waiting on vital legacy income.

The latest Government data shows us that there’s still a high volume of probate applications coming through, so while the level of grants being processed is high, there remains a considerable backlog. However, HMCTS also has reported a welcome reduction in the number of stopped cases in the system. These ‘stops’ often apply to larger estates awaiting additional Inheritance Tax documentation and can include generous legacy gifts. HMCTS Probate Webinar, 15 November (1-2PM)

This HMCTS webinar will offer charities an update on the latest figures on probate applications and their plans to improve the service. This includes presenting data to help you forecast legacy income and will offer the opportunity to ask questions.
