Remember A Charity Week 2014 hailed "most successful campaign to date"

We're delighted to announce that Remember A Charity Week has been a fantastic success thanks to the support of our members, the sector, government and businesses. The theme for the 2014 awareness week was 'Living Legends', which saw three inspirational grandparents share their remarkable stories, to remind the nation that there's a legend in all of us. Our documentary starred 94-year old wing walker, Tom Lackey, 72-year old Ironwoman, Eddie Brocklesby, and 80-year old high diver, David Rice, each demonstrating that we can all become a Living Legend by including a charity in our Will. Rob Cope, Director of Remember A Charity, said "I have no doubt that this is our most successful campaign to date". Some key highlights include our highest web traffic in the campaign's history, solicitors, the Cabinet Office and partners including The Law Society, Legal & General and The Co-operative Legal Services promoting the Week, as well as great coverage in The Independent, Mail on Sunday, The Times, Daily Mirror, and The Daily Mail. The week has also generated tangible legacy gifts, thanks to information in charity shops as well as our Daily Telegraph legacies supplement. It has been brilliant to see so many charities tell stories of their own Living Legends, such as brave nan Jean Shields, 77, who dives with sharks for the RNLI. Stories like this really reflect the warmth, emotion and fun side of the campaign. Thank you to all who supported Remember A Charity in your Will Week - your involvement has made it a real success, and we couldn't have done it without you.
