Remember A Charity Week returns to help drive legacy giving

Published on

Remember A Charity Week will return from 7–13 September 2026.

The campaign brings charities, professional advisers and partners together to inspire more people to leave a charitable gift in their Will.

Building on the consortium's year-round consumer awareness work, this year's campaign introduces fresh creative content alongside an expanded suite of resources to help member charities engage supporters and encourage conversations about legacy giving.

New creative campaign

The 2026 campaign builds on Remember A Charity's established 'Be Remembered' theme, celebrating the unique and often quirky ways people are remembered by those they leave behind. Three new adverts have been developed to reach new audiences and continue to normalise conversations about charitable gifts in Wills.

The multi-channel advertising campaign will run throughout Remember A Charity Week before continuing across digital channels until December, helping to keep legacy giving front of mind as part of the consortium's always-on public awareness programme.

Resources to help charities maximise the campaign

Member charities and partners will have access to an extensive suite of campaign resources designed to support activity throughout the awareness week.

The resource pack includes more than 100 customisable assets, ranging from social media videos, posters and bookmarks to internal communications materials and campaign merchandise. A dedicated PR toolkit will also provide press release templates, key messaging and guidance on developing case studies, helping organisations share compelling stories about the impact of legacy giving.

Alongside charity activity, Remember A Charity will once again work with its network of professional advisers, encouraging solicitors, Will-writers, estate planners and financial advisers to raise awareness of charitable gifts in Wills with their clients.

Legacy giving continues to grow

The campaign comes as Remember A Charity's latest consumer benchmarking research highlights continued growth in legacy giving. Among charity supporters aged 40 and over, 22% say they have already included a charitable gift in their Will, compared with 14% in 2010. A further 35% of supporters who have not yet done so say they would be open to leaving a gift in the future.

Commenting on the campaign, Lucinda Frostick, Director at Remember A Charity, said:

"Remember A Charity Week provides a unique opportunity for charities and professional advisers to come together and inspire more people to consider the difference a gift in their Will can make. This year's campaign brings fresh creative content, new resources for members and a fully coordinated approach to help keep legacy giving front of mind.

"Legacy gifts are a vital source of income for charities of all sizes and causes. By working together during Remember A Charity Week, we can encourage more conversations, reach new audiences and help secure future funding for the causes people feel most passionately about."

Member charities are encouraged to get involved through supporter communications, digital activity, internal awareness initiatives and collaborative partnership work during the week.
