Value of charitable legacies up by one per cent

The value of legacies left to charities has risen almost 1 per cent in the 12 months to March 2011, according to Legacy Foresight.
The figures show a rise in monetary bequests, with legacy income up by almost £8m from the year to March 2010.
Research also shows an increase in the number of bequests, with most of the growth in bequests of specific sums of money.
