Age UK London is the UK’s only charity campaigning on behalf of older Londoners. We are part of the Age UK network but an independent charity raising our own funds. We campaign on poverty, digital inclusion, affordable and accessible transport, ageism and for more public toilets. We partner with NHS London to run health events reaching out to minority groups to combat health inequalities and providing information to allow people to make informed health choices. We run campaign workshops providing the resources and information to allow older Londoners to campaign on their own local issues.
We have close relationships with policy and decision makers across London including London Councils and local authorities but also pan-London with Assembly Members at the GLA and TfL.
Our aim is to ensure that older Londoners are considered when decisions are made. London has the fastest growing older population in the UK. We want to see an age-friendly London where older people are recognised and respected.
The Age UK London team work hard to get results. Most recently, alongside our campaigners, we successfully campaigned to stop London Councils reviewing the Freedom Pass, this means older Londoners now and, in the future, will benefit from free travel in London across buses, tubes and trains.
Your legacy is important to Age UK London allowing us to continue our campaign work on behalf of older Londoners. Without Age UK London there would not be a voice for older people across London - or an organisation representing you on the issues that matter. Legacies have helped us continue our work and we hope your support will continue.
