Artists Futures Fund is an independent charity, founded in 1810, and formerly known as the Artists’ Benevolent Fund.
Through our Artist Fellowship and Awards programmes, delivered in partnership with Higher Education Institutions and key cultural organisations across the UK, we support contemporary artists who are facing significant economic, social, cultural or health barriers that would otherwise prevent them from undertaking their creative practice and advancing their career.
Since 2018, the Fund has awarded over £400,000 to more than 40 emerging artists, helping them pursue sustainable and thriving creative careers.
Our Vision is to enrich and diversify the UK’s cultural landscape by providing place-based Fellowships, studio space, financial support, mentoring, networking and exhibition opportunities for talented artists who face wide-ranging challenges so that they can establish their own artistic futures.
We have set ambitious goals for the next five years to expand and grow our impact. By increasing our grant activities and broadening our partnerships and support network, Artists Futures Fund plans to provide even more emerging artists with the financial backing, mentoring, and networking opportunities they need to succeed.
