Comann Eachdraidh Eirisgeidh (CEE) is a community-owned charity on the Isle of Eriskay in the Outer Hebrides. Our mission is to safeguard the island’s heritage, language, culture, and traditions, ensuring they remain a living legacy for future generations while also providing a much-needed vibrant social space for the community.

Since our founding in 2010, we have celebrated Eriskay’s unique story, from the Herring Girls and the famed Eriskay Jersey to the rare Eriskay Pony and the legendary “Whisky Galore.” It was here, on 23 July 1745, that Bonnie Prince Charlie first set foot on Scottish soil, sparking the Jacobite Rising.

Through exhibitions, oral history projects, walking trails, and traditional skills workshops, we bring the past to life while strengthening pride of place.

Our redeveloped Heritage Centre, Ionad Eilean na h-Òige, will provide a permanent museum, archive, library, laundrette, gym, horticulture space, wellbeing suites, café, and flexible areas for learning and events — creating a vibrant hub where island life and history meet.

We are committed to preserving the Gaelic language, teaching traditional skills and sustainable living, promoting wellbeing, reducing isolation, and protecting the Eriskay Pony, a living symbol of resilience and island heritage.

From the rare Eriskay Ponies to Gaelic language, traditions, and island heritage, your legacy will safeguard a unique way of life. It will create a vibrant hub where future generations can learn, celebrate, and take pride in Eriskay’s story. A gift in your Will helps preserve the island’s spirit.
