George’s Rockstars was founded in memory of 6-year-old George, who bravely battled leukaemia. Inspired by his experience of music therapy, our mission is to bring the joy and healing power of music therapy to children in hospitals.
The children we support often face serious, life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses, as well as mental health challenges.

Many spend extended periods in hospital, missing out on school, friendships, and family life. Alongside the physical challenges of their conditions, they must also come to terms with the emotional and psychological impacts, including the reality that their illness may shape the rest of their lives.

Hospitalisation itself can have a profound and lasting effect on a child’s development, affecting their motor skills, cognitive abilities, emotional wellbeing, and social interactions.
Music therapy offers a powerful way to support these children and their families. Through music, children can express their emotions, connect with others, and find moments of joy, creativity, and control in an otherwise clinical setting. It helps reduce stress, support treatment engagement, promote development, and create positive hospital experiences.

At George’s Rockstars, we believe every child deserves the healing power of music.

Thanks to a gift left in a Will, we were able to bring the power of music therapy to even more children – launching a brand-new service at Brighton’s Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital.

This incredible legacy has helped us reach children facing serious illness, disability, and mental health challenges, giving them the chance to express themselves, connect with others, and find joy during their hospital stay.

It’s a lasting gift that will make a difference to countless young lives for years to come.
