Every year, more than 50,000 people are reported missing in London. Among them are people we all know: children, older adults living with dementia, people in mental health crisis, and those at risk of suicide.
We are London Search and Rescue (LonSAR) - a 100% volunteer-led charity dedicated to finding vulnerable missing people across the capital. We operate around the clock, in all weather, across London’s parks, woodlands, waterways and built environments.
Working in partnership with the Police, NHS and London Fire Brigade, our professionally trained responders are deployed when someone’s life may be at risk. From foot teams to drones, medics, dogs, bike teams, paddlecraft and water responders, we bring specialist skills, compassion and urgency to every search.
Our work is often invisible - but it is life-saving. We support families through their darkest moments by bringing people home.
We receive no statutory funding. Everything we do is powered by public support - whether that’s training our volunteers, replacing critical kit, or keeping our vehicles running so we can respond within minutes.
With your support, we can continue this vital work - for everyone who goes missing, and everyone who loves them.
Your legacy could help fund the training, equipment and specialist teams that save lives across London. Every pound goes directly into frontline operations - helping us bring more people home, and ensuring we’re always ready to respond, day or night, when every second counts.
