Supporting the Future of Mull and Iona
At Mull and Iona Community Trust (MICT), we believe in a thriving island community where everyone —from young families to older residents- can live, work, and grow older with dignity; being supported locally throughout their lives. This means:
✨ Everyone can afford a warm, secure home
🚐 Essential services are reliable and accessible
💛 Older residents are cared for with respect
📚 Children can learn close to home
👨👩👧👦 Families have childcare and real career opportunities
Every single day, MICT changes lives. We work alongside local people to run services that make a real difference: community transport, enabling older people and those without access to a car to shop, socialize and access GP and hospital services; a first aid responder and heart re-start defib network; a Dementia singing group; affordable housing, tackling the islands’ housing crisis; environmental projects: recycling, reuse, nature restoration, wildlife protection and welcoming community and visitor facilities.
These services provide local, year-round employment; support vulnerable people as well as local businesses and visitors and protect nature.
By tackling the root causes of rural deprivation and depopulation we are enabling our remote, sparsely populated community to stay connected and resilient.
A gift in your will helps islanders stay connected, protects those who need support most, and ensures future generations can live, work and raise their families here. Your legacy becomes part of the islands’ future —ensuring our community thrives.
