PFSS is a registered charity which provides a unique service, supporting pet owners who are in one of the following emergency situations:
• Ill health
• Temporary homelessness
• Domestic abuse
If a pet owner is in one of these situations and is unable to afford boarding fees or arrange any other care for their pet, then PFSS will try to help. PFSS does not operate a boarding centre or kennels but relies solely on volunteers who welcome the pet into their own home. Our pet fosterers have been approved through a recruitment process and had a home assessment by our team. Our wonderful volunteer pet fosterers look after each pet for anything between 1 week to several months at a time.
PFSS provides that bridge to a time when the owner and pet can be reunited and the companionship restored. The anticipation of which helps many psychologically, through their difficult time.
We rely on donations to manage this service, so choosing to leave a gift to PFSS in your Will ensures the welfare of these pets and owners will continue, reflecting on your love of pets.
