Portree & Braes Community Trust works to create a vibrant, sustainable future for the people of Portree, Braes, and the surrounding area. Our purpose is to stimulate and coordinate the economic, cultural, and environmental regeneration of the community, always guided by local priorities.
The Trust provides a structure through which land and assets can be held on behalf of the community, ensuring they are used for the benefit of all. Projects are led by sub-groups of members and directors, reporting to the Trust committee, which acts as an umbrella organisation to bring initiatives together.
Our work is wide-ranging. It includes securing land and buildings for community use, supporting renewable energy projects, organising local events, and improving access to education and training opportunities. We also work closely with existing groups and public bodies, helping to access funding streams and opportunities that would otherwise not be available.
