Support Dogs is a national UK charity that transforms lives by training and providing assistance dogs for autistic children, people with epilepsy, and physical disabilities. Our mission is to enhance independence, safety, and quality of life for individuals and families who face daily challenges.
Through three specialist programmes, Support Dogs delivers tailored support: Autism assistance dogs provide safety and structure for autistic children, reducing stress and improving inclusion for the whole family. Epilepsy seizure alert dogs are uniquely trained to give up to an hour’s warning before a seizure, allowing clients time to reach safety and giving them greater freedom. Disability assistance dogs offer practical, 24-hour support by carrying out tasks such as opening doors, picking up dropped items, and helping with daily routines - enabling people with disabilities to live more independently.
Beyond the life-changing impact on individuals, Support Dogs fosters a calmer, safer, and more connected home environment. Demand for their services is growing rapidly, and the charity is working to expand its reach through the development of a National Centre of Excellence.
At its heart, Support Dogs is committed to empowering people, saving lives, and creating brighter futures - all through the remarkable ability of dogs.
One third of our giving simply wouldn’t exist without legacies. These incredible gifts help us train more lifechanging assistance dogs, support more clients, and give more dogs a purpose. By remembering Support Dogs in your will, you create independence, safety, and brighter futures for generations to come.
