The Merchant Taylors’ Foundation

We tailor brighter futures for thousands of people in London, and through the Merchant Taylors’ Company’s associated schools across the country. 

We make grants. Our funding helps hundreds of charities in inner London, and thousands of young people through schools. 

Our vision is to see people flourish, no matter what life has thrown at them. So we don’t stop at funding education in the classroom, precious though that is.  

Because what happens outside the classroom could be the wind in a person’s sails, but might be a storm which blows them irreversibly off course.  

That’s why the Foundation helps people of all ages to learn  the skills they need to steer a true course through life. 

In a typical year, our grant-funding: 

• Protects young people from becoming homeless 
• Helps people go straight from prison into employment and housing 
• Teaches vital skills for work 

More than half of the Foundation’s work is only possible because of the legacies of past Merchant Taylors.
